This month, we are celebrating the following Graduate School students for their achievements!
Hari Srinivasan; an incoming Ph.D. student in neuroscience– , has been named to the 2022 cohort of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship Program for New Americans. This merit-based graduate award for immigrants and children of immigrants provides 30 fellows annually with up to $90,000 in funding to support their graduate studies. The 2022 cohort was chosen from a pool of more than 1,800 applicants on the basis of their potential to make significant contributions to the United States. Congratulations Hari!
Tao Hong; second-year Ph.D. student in interdisciplinary materials science – also has been named to the 2022 cohort of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship Program for New Americans. Hong’s research focuses on the development of a portable device for certain cancer diagnoses enabled by the integration of nanophotonics, microfluidics, and machine learning. Steven Errington; Ph.D. candidate in Neuroscience – won the Graduate Leadership Anchor Award for Department Leadership. These annual awards recognize graduate student leaders on a school-wide level and include focuses beyond solely academic research, honoring graduate students who have made a positive impact through their actions and leadership. Lantana Grub; Ph.D. student in the Patel Lab – was awarded a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship by the Department of Defense. Congratulations Lantana!
Simone Herzberg; Ph.D. student in Epidemiology – was named a 2022 PEO Scholar Award winner. This award recognizes and encourages academic excellence and achievement by women in doctoral-level programs. Simone is also a MSTP student. Congratulations Simone!
