This two-day science communication event, Being Human: The Nexus of Science and Spirituality, consists of a keynote address, a workshop and panel discussion, and was made possible by support from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and their Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER) program. The event will focus on engagement of scientists with diverse and religious publics.
Keynote address: Tuesday, March 19, 4:00 to 5:30 PM in the Student Life Center, Ballrooms A&B. Reception to follow.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Briana Pobiner, a paleoanthropologist with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. The respondent is The Rev. C. Nolan Huizenga, of the Second Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
Workshop: Wednesday, March 20, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Student Life Center, Board of Trust Room 140.
Panel Discussion: Wednesday, March 20, 1:30 to 3:30 PM in the Student Life Center, Ballrooms A&B. Reception to follow.
