Position Details

The position is funded by an NSF project that aims to investigate and support how young children can learn science through embodied interactions. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Noel Enyedy on all phases of the project including: designing and co-leading activities with teachers and children, professional development; data collection, analysis, and the publication of results.

Teaching and Learning

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION at Vanderbilt University beginning fall 2019, with the option of an earlier start date. Applications are strongly encouraged from scholars whose research focuses on science education and mixed-reality learning environments.

The position is funded by an NSF project that aims to investigate and support how young children can learn science through embodied interactions. The project employs a range of mixed methodologies with an emphasis on design based research and interaction analysis. The project is being conducted in close collaboration with Joshua Danish at Indiana University. Find additional information about the project. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Noel Enyedy on all phases of the project including: designing and co-leading activities with teachers and children, professional development; data collection, analysis, and the publication of results. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with members of research teams led by Joshua Danish and Danielle Keifert at the other participating universities. The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged and supported to develop publications that build on his or her emerging research agenda. 

Applicants should have an earned doctorate in either the learning sciences or another relevant field. Applicants will ideally have expertise in and experience with qualitative data analysis, quantitative data analysis, or both. The position carries a competitive salary plus health insurance coverage.
