Sylvia Cheever, a fifth-year Anthropology student, utilized her Evolutionary Studies Pilot Grant of $4750 in late May to launch her dissertation research. Her research focuses on testing mercury concentration in bone samples from Santa Barbara in collaboration with the METAL lab at ASU. Additionally, she has been invited to deliver a virtual lecture in Spanish at the anniversary conference of the Huancavelica branch of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture on August 22.
